Well, when I insisted on asking a question, I meant about the Omnium, not about myself. But if you're so interested... I am Custodian Veldharin, appointed as Keeper of Knowledge by Grand Magister... er... who was it again? Grand Magister Mo--no, it wasn't her. Uh... well, regardless. Several Grand Magisters ago. I've clearly lost count. After the Second War, I was... encouraged to retire. Apparently, Anasterian wanted me to "enjoy the many days I had remaining." Which was his way of saying I was far too old for the position. So, I moved to live with my daughter, Elsharin. She served as a Seeker of Knowledge and Magisterial Ambassador to the Wizard's Sanctum in Stormwind.

Of course I did and not just for the Omnium either! I lost two brothers and my dear sister when the city fell. All three of them were Magisters... I tried to assist the young prince in reviving... awakening? It was so... cold. But no matter what we tried, it simply... refused. Even with his key-cipher, it did not respond. After it was sealed away, I tried to help the surviving Magisters restore the Terrace... but they insisted I rest. And so I did, for a good many years. Some... not so good. But alas, I have returned and young Rommath was in no mood to try to stop me. Un-retirement is precisely what I needed after all these years!

I'd refer you to the plaque there on the Omnium. It summarizes Dath'Remar's intentions quite nicely. But in short, his reasons were many, his ambitions bold, and his purpose as clear as the skies over Eversong. Dath'Remar saw much in his youth and he dared not shy away from the magical forces of our world.

Ah, yes. The Fel Magicule. A forbidden node of knowledge, at least it was. Fel was one of the first magics Dath'Remar credits as his catalyst for creating the Omnium. He saw its potential... and its horror during the days of the Highborne. He saw the creatures from beyond that wielded fel magic. When the time came, he saw the destructive truth of both fel and arcane in those final days of the War of the Ancients. Never again would he allow his people to be blindsided by such a destructive, unknown force. Over time, knowledge of fel and the Burning Legion was shared between the Magisters and the Council of Tirisfal. But beyond a select few, the Fel Magicule was forbidden to study. Oh, how times would change...

When we first set upon the shores of Tirisfal, our ancestors encountered a darkness that clung to this land. We brought wick pile. Is tangled... untangle to find wicks. Put wick in full pot! STEP THREE: cool the pot. Wax still too hot at this stage. Need to cool down to make hard. Can just drop and wait or run it around to cool faster. STEP FOUR: pull out candle! Seem easy, but pot sometimes too tight. Ask friends to give a whack to loosen it up. Make at least one candle and workshop is success!

This is no amateur work--whoever interlaced these together was both a skilled technomancer and quite familiar with Lightforged technology. There also appears to be a fine coating on the inner chassis... some sort of arcane conductor? It almost looks organic--spore-like even but...arcane charged? How curious...

Leylines? They must be looking for a fuel source of some kind... As for the battery itself--do you see these argunite crystals inside the chassis and how they connect into this mainframe? There is no mistaking Lightforged technology. Weaving ethereal technomancy into other technologies is exactly what the Hal'hadar do. Perhaps one of the Lightforged draenei can tell you more about this. The ren'dorei mentioned that a few of them were stationed in the elven city of Silvermoon.

Even when I was a member of the Shadowguard, I rarely encountered them. The only Shadowguard who did were those with high enough clearance called in as security for their operations. All I know is that they were Sal'hadaar's research division. Where in the cosmos did you find this?

According to Veldharin, the first Seekers of Knowledge investigated the dark presence our ancestors felt in Tirisfal. No one knows specifically what they found, but apparently only a few of them returned with their minds intact. Whatever they saw or found was enough for Dath'Remar to outlaw void magic. Do you think Umbric has peered into it? Do you think we'll be allowed to?

I don't blame the Grand Magister for exiling those who followed Umbric. But I'll never forget the stares or the hatred in their faces. Years later, and some still bear the same expression... Isn't the pursuit of knowledge the entire point of this place?
