Speakstone collects the text World of Warcraft delivers at runtime and never writes to disk — quest description, progress and completion text, NPC gossip, and the books and plaques you can read. None of it is in the client database, so it cannot be datamined. It can only be captured by someone playing the game.
What is collected here is generated into voiceovers, cloned from each NPC's own in-game dialogue, and shipped in the Quest Reader addon.
The text, the NPC it came from, the game build, and an optional nickname if you give one. Your character name is replaced with the game's own $n token by the addon before anything is written, so it never reaches this site. Uploader IP addresses are stored only as a salted hash, to rate-limit abuse. Raw uploads are deleted after 30 days.
Uploading text that is already held is not wasted. A second independent capture of byte-identical text is the strongest signal that a line is genuine, and it is what promotes a passage from single-source to confirmed.
The text is Blizzard Entertainment's. This is a non-commercial fan project with no affiliation to or endorsement from Blizzard, and it will be taken down on request.
