A letter from Aonda. What's that crafty highlander been up to?

The Brazier of Eternal Flame awaits your offering.

Shadowgale Forest is a dangerous place. Some even say its haunted. I'm quite sure that I don't believe that, but I do know that its not for the faint hearted, or the unprepared.

Greetings, I am Ayessa Dawnsinger, the current Grand Skyseer of the Windshapers. What may I do for you?

Elder Amberwind sent me a message about you and your exploits in Shen'dar Village. You are most welcome here, friend. You have a strong aura, and you clearly have a resonance with the spirits. Fewer and fewer of us have the skysight of late, and Zephras needs those with the gift if we are to survive these trying times. I am glad you have found your way to me. I look forward to further making your acquaintance.

Riaani seems to be intently focused on his work on the wind construct.

Have you found what we need yet?

Thank you for your help. Make sure you let my husband know that the farm is safe.

Oh, hello. Ayessa sent you to assist me? Very well then. Not sure what an obvious novice like yourself can do, but if you give me a moment to pull my head out of this construct's innards I might have a few ideas of things you can do to help.

Hmm, what an odd question? Not much, I suppose. My mother used to use it as a powder for babies to prevent diaper rash, but past that, I don't know of any other good use for it. Why do you ask?

Greetings, friend! I have an ample supply of leather and hides, and I know a few techniques I might be willing to share. Interested in doing business?

"There were those who loudly opposed the Prince's plan to channel a font of demonic energy to power his network of crystalline foci. Many of the detractors were members of outspoken noble families who attempted to use their influence to turn public sentiment against House Tortheldrin and the Prince's plan."

The spirits of the wind may have left us, but the power of the elements is not entirely out of reach for those with the patience to seek them out. If you are initiated in the ways of the shaman, I can help you grasp them.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to steal these components from this construct. Other than the gyrozephyr these components have almost no practical application. Even the gyro would be nigh-useless outside of its intended purpose.

Riaani's face is buried under the heaving armor plates of the construct, attempting to work on the mechanisms underneath. He does not notice your presence at all. Storms curse where is the core?! Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the Gyrozephyr as well? It's a miracle this construct's winds haven't dissipated entirely by now!

Handling these essences fills me with a sense of... deep disquiet. I can almost feel a malevolent, regretful aura emanating from them. It's enough to make me faint. Endaria shudders slightly. I do not look forward to studying these further.

The heart of a betrayer is a powerful reagent. The flames will eagerly accept such an offering and burn more intensely as it is consumed.

You have done well to come this far. You do the Windshapers honor, adventurer.

The Windshapers do not forget, and blood is always paid with blood. It pleases me that you were able to deliver this final, painful reminder of our creed to this traitor. This heart will not be all that feeds the flames today, however. There is one other task that needs to be done.

"When the beleaguered rebel army arrived at the port city of Eldre'narr, the magisters in control of the city had already heard of Tortheldrin's mighty rage--and of his standing order to kill any rebel found on sight. In an act of miraculous mercy, the magisters made no move to hinder the rebels' progress, allowing them to commandeer a number of ships without resistance. The Shal'nan understood that this act of mercy would likely expose many in Eldre'narr to Tortheldrin's wrath. Even so, he accepted this unexpected gift with grace and, with a heavy heart, sailed his people west into the unknown."

You seem eager to lend aid immediately. Come, let's speak further on the current situation.

"On the eve of the planned summoning ritual, the Shal'nan and his forces struck. Seeing this as their final opportunity to thwart Prince Tortheldrin's reckless plan, they made a daring raid on the Prince's sanctum, intent on stopping the ritual. Just as the Shal'nan and the rebels feared, the poorly considered spell spiraled out of control and threatened to destroy the entire city center. As the battle raged, wild magics tore through the streets, opening portals to the Nether itself and manifesting malevolent arcane monstrosities that preyed mercilessly upon the defenseless citizens of Eldre'Thalas."

"In the end, the worst of the destruction was narrowly avoided due to the rebels' intervention, but the price was steep. The battle claimed many lives on all sides, but the rebels suffered the greatest losses. The Shal'nan himself was the only one to survive the final confrontation within Tortheldrin's sanctum. Those closest to the Shal'nan have widely documented that whatever injury he suffered in that last battle left him forever changed. In the centuries since those dark days, the Shal'nan has never spoken of what occurred, and he becomes withdrawn and wistful when asked."

The spirit of Kuramaa is eternal, and it will manifest again when it is needed. Its mask is a source of great power, and will prove invaluable to the ritual we must complete.

The paramount concern of the Windshapers is to better understand why the spirits left us, and what we may be able to do to bring them back. One curious fixture of Shadowgale Forest to the north is the presence of a curious form of wind sprite that some call "hollows". We know little of them and why they are there, but we do know that they first started to appear after the spirits of the wind left us. I need you to go there and disperse them. Gather the remains and bring them back here.

"In the immediate aftermath of the battle, Tortheldrin's forces were scattered and disorganized. Most were occupied with securing the city once more, and this distraction allowed the remaining rebels to escape and regroup. With nowhere else to go, the Shal'nan marched what was left of his exhausted forces west, toward the coast."

Wait--what?! Belathaan... is dead? Ayessa listens as you give your account of what occurred. The High Order was meeting with the Al'Aketh to discuss peace? There is no peace with the cult, they are murderous zealots. What was Elaadrin thinking sending Belathaan to treat with them alone? Pay this no mind, adventurer. You are not at fault for this. The arrogance of the High Order is to blame, yet again. You were merely in the right place at the wrong time.

"Prince Tortheldrin grew frustrated, fearing that delays and debate would lead to the further deterioration of his kingdom. As a result, his response to this resistance was swift and brutal. Over the course of a single bloody night, a purge was carried out that saw the complete destruction of dozens of noble houses. All who publicly opposed Tortheldrin were abruptly silenced, and entire lineages were destroyed overnight."

It is done. The Eternal Flame burns once again. Your trial is now complete. I am pleased to present you with your Fire Totem. Use this icon of power well in your travels, adventurer. Just remember, the power of the elemental plane serves those that respect it, and consumes those who do not. This is our way.

We now have what we need. We will light the eternal flame and commune with the spirits of fire.

We have our duties, hero. Duties to the Horde.

Listen closely to what you are told and do not quickly trust, or distrust. For even friends serve their own ends, hero. Our great Warchief knows this, and to prove that there are warlocks within the Horde who do not wish to destroy it from within or gain control over it, I have volunteered to aid our young leader in anyway I can.

Welcome to the Crossroads, hero. My name is Thork--I lead the defenses here in the name of the Warchief. Please, feel free to make yourself at home. As long as you mind your business, no one should have any problem with you taking up some space. There are many threats to our safety here. If you've already become familiar with the lay of the land, speak to the others here--perhaps they have tasks for you to do.

Hello, hero.

Hmm, I see. Very well then, hero. The High Order will assist the Peacekeepers. Please inform Valennia that she can count on us for this fight. Elaadrin lowers his voice dangerously. Do not mistake our willing cooperation for any sort of clemency. You owe the High Order blood, and we always collect on our debts.

Finally, you are of age, adventurer... of age to battle in the name of the Horde. To conquer for the glory of the Warchief. Yes... Kaltunk looks you over. You will do nicely. No doubt you wish to find a great dragon or demon and strangle it with your bare hands, but perhaps it would be wise to start on something less... dangerous. Kaltunk laughs. Report to Gornek, he should be able to assign a task better suited to a young hero. You will find Gornek in the Den, to the west.

In my previous life, I lived nearby here. I still wander the fields of my childhood farmstead occasionally. It fills me with sadness to see those I knew and loved, shambling around as mindless thralls. It pains me, but it's that very pain that gives me strength and purpose.

Be careful, hero. There are cultists nearby.

No other race on Azeroth has suffered as much as our people, hero. To laugh in the face of death has become second nature for all of us.

Hmm, I see. Very well then, hero. The Windshapers will provide aid. Please inform Valennia that she can count on us for this fight.

Where can I send you today hero?

Lok-tar, hero. I am Thrall, Warchief of the Horde. An Earthen Ring messenger told me to expect members of the Windshapers, and here you are. I'd not have expected to see a high elf standing before me here in Orgrimmar, but the horde will welcome you as our guest all the same. You have my blessing to travel through horde lands. Go with honor, Windshaper.

I came to the Crossroads from the south seeking help, hero, but I find only cowards who turn their backs on me--even the mighty Thork insults me so. He is a good leader, but his dismissal of my plea causes me greater anger. He claims my rage makes me hasty--that it clouds my judgement--but I will not rest until I have vengeance!

The times we live in are as fickle as the shifting winds, hero. It is important to remember what is true and lasting in this world, and to preserve that. Everything else is a waste.
